The 10th of October, 2017 will be remembered as a historic day in the development of the internet in the United States: this was the day that .boston domain names launched to the world.
One of only four geographical top-level domains in the USA, .boston joins .miami, .nyc and .vegas in this elite group of cities with their own internet domain.
.boston is an important part of the MMX portfolio of top-level domains (.miami is also owned and operated by MMX). Years in the making, .boston has now reached the public of Boston, and the whole world, after clearing many hurdles.
Launch Day of .boston featured an informal launch ceremony at Boston’s City Hall, presided by MMX VP Solomon Amoako. We were honored to be joined by dozens of partners and friends, not the least of which was the City of Boston’s acting CIO, Riley Zlab, and The Boston Globe team, without whom our launch wouldn’t have been possible.
Following the morning’s festivities, VIPs boarded an iconic Boston Duck boat kindly provided by .boston early adopter, ducktours.boston. The .boston team with key partners and friends then spent the day touring Boston hotspots, distributing gifts and raising awareness of .boston domains.
The latest news about .boston domains will always be available at .boston’s home, www.hub.boston. For an up-to-date list of domain sellers that you can acquire your .boston domains from, please click here.
